Coming from Belleville, Michigan, is Olivia Newman. When she first arrived at PUC, she wasn’t sure what she wanted to study until a friend suggested accounting since Olivia is good with numbers and math. After her first accounting class, she fell in love with it. Now, as a junior, she has been majoring in business with an emphasis in accounting.
What made you decide to attend PUC?
I initially heard of PUC when I was recruited for athletics. Upon my visit, I saw the beautiful scenery and felt the warmth of a family away from home. I saw that I would have the space to grow, but that support was close by if needed. Also, being from Michigan, I was excited to explore California.
What do you like the most about your program?
I love the professors in the business department. They are caring and educated. I have gained an abundance of knowledge that is useful in real life.
What is your favorite thing about being a part of the Pioneers family?
My favorite thing about the community at PUC is the events. There’s always something happening that you can be a part of! The staff and Student Association work hard to ensure we have fun memories.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
If I could travel anywhere, it would be Greece. The scenery is absolutely stunning, and I would love to see it with my own eyes.
What is something you’re passionate about?
I am passionate about many things, but especially volleyball. I love watching films and giving my all in practice and games alongside my teammates to get better every day. Celebrating a good play is one of my favorite things 🙂
Do you have a favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley?
I would say my favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley is Azteca’s. I haven’t explored many places, but that has been a favorite of mine since freshman year.
Describe your perfect weekend at PUC.
A perfect weekend at PUC would constitute warm weather and spending time with my friends outside looking at the beautiful views of the mountain- laughing, maybe having a picnic, reading a good book, taking a trip to the beach, and playing volleyball in the sand.
