Mackenzie Wheeler decided to major in religion after knowing her love for God and working with Pathfinder kids. Being a theology student at PUC, she appreciates the help her professors and academic advisors give. Mackenzie learned from the theology program that no matter what major, whether religion or theology, ministry can be done by all.
How has studying at PUC been beneficial to your education and future?
When I need help with certain classes, I can get tutored and ask my professors questions if I really need help.
How has studying at PUC been beneficial to your education and future?
When I need help with certain classes, I can get tutored and ask my professors questions if I really need help.
What class have you taken that you think everyone would benefit from?
The class I have taken that everyone would benefit from is Letters of Paul because it taught me that Paul has written letters to different churches, and that teaches them about God.
Can you give any advice to high school students who are interested in pursuing a theology major?
The best advice that I can give is to know that God will always be here, and some classes are not fun. You guys should prepare to take Hebrew or Greek, except for religion majors, but it is a good idea to take those classes to understand where the Bible first came from. I haven’t taken these classes yet, but I probably will.
Outside of classes, are there any activities or events your program throws during the school year?
Yes we go on retreats and hikes.
What should people know about PUC’s theology program?
People should know that we need more people in ministry, and have more women pastors.
