SA Officer Spotlight: Jayda Hamilton

Senior Jayda Hamilton is the 2024-2025 student association marketing and publication vice president. She is a data science major–but loves designing and organizing, and she desires to grow as a leader in a Christian environment. To help with her future career, Jayda is determined to improve her communication and teamwork skills by helping the students of PUC.

Which roles do you find the most important as marketing and publications VP?

First, assisting all SA officers with design needs (i.e., posters, marketing material, etc.) throughout the school year is a huge part of my position. In addition, promoting and boosting events and activities on campus (i.e., putting up posters in a timely manner, running social media, creating and selling merch, etc.) is one of the most important roles.

Last, but not least, managing and leading a team to communicate current and past news about events and campus life (i.e., a social media manager, photographers/videographers, a campus chronicle editor, etc.) is a very significant part of the MVP’s job.

What do you hope to accomplish with SA this school year?

One focus for this year is that I hope to build and manage a devoted team that will bring back the yearbook with far greater content and quality because PUC values it as an important part of the graduation experience. Moreover, I hope my SA team and I will be able to foster community from SA events with innovative ideas for promoting campus activities and encouraging a more social campus life.

How do you plan to advocate for the students of PUC?

I aim to provide a platform for open communication between the student body and SA.

Can you share any events or activities you look forward to hosting?

I am really looking forward to hosting the traditional events SA puts on every year, such as costume bowling, lake day, Christmas tree lighting, etc. Every year, I have a blast attending and participating in them, but this year I am even more excited because I have the opportunity to help plan and host them.

What message do you want to emphasize across campus next year to help shape the culture of PUC?

I want to focus my passions on providing genuine spiritual experiences for the campus.

What are your favorite things about PUC?

My favorite thing about PUC is how close-knit a community there is, and I appreciate the great friendships and relationships I’ve been able to build on campus.
