Before Olivia Newman graduates from PUC, she wants to make a significant impact on campus. That’s why she decided to run for SA financial vice president and help be a voice for PUC students. “The opportunity to represent students and facilitate their happiness drove my interest in this position,” shared Olivia. “Going into my last year of the accounting program at PUC, I am confident in my ability to contribute positively to student life.”

What are your previous leadership roles? 

My previous experience as captain of various sports teams and the leadership roles I have undertaken in the workplace and classroom have honed my skills. I embrace leadership and am eager to grow and develop within this new role. 

What are your goals and plans for office? 

I plan to utilize my current knowledge and continue expanding my expertise to make everything within reach a reality. 

How do you plan to support PUC students? 

I plan to support PUC students by being readily available in my office to listen to any ideas or concerns they may have.These topics can be further discussed with the rest of the team, and change will be enacted if applicable. My priority is making students feel heard and valued. 

What excites you about being a part of your SA team? 

I’m proud and excited to be a part of this team because of the passion and integrity I have observed from everyone on the Student Association team. These people drive me to be better and expand my thinking.

What are you looking forward to accomplishing with your team? 

I look forward to reaching higher levels of student involvement on campus and continuing to make PUC a safe place for everyone. 

What are you looking forward to this school year? 

This year, I am looking forward to all the fun student events that will be hosted and making connections with new people on campus! 

What is your favorite thing about being a part of the Pioneers community? 

I love being a part of the Pioneer community because it feels like a family. The people here are extremely kind and always willing to help. Going to college so far away from home can be tough, but the people have made it easy. 

Can you share any advice for new students? 

My advice for new students would be to put yourself out there, meet new people, and go to the events. Make the best of your time at PUC.
