Q&A with Faith Phillips: SA Marketing & Publications VP
September 26, 2025 2025-09-23 17:09Q&A with Faith Phillips: SA Marketing & Publications VP
This year’s SA Marketing and Publications Vice President is sophomore nursing major Faith Phillips. From her hometown of Reno, NV, she came to PUC because of the nature and people. Although both of her parents attended PUC, she fell in love with the campus. “There’s something poetic about being absorbed in God’s nature while learning about his creations,” she shared. “I’m surrounded by great people, too! The nature and company in combination make for a wonderful experience.”
For her role, Faith’s responsibility is to promote SA events and projects and be a bridge of communication between her team and the student body. “ I think the most important aspect will be clear, concise, and entertaining communication,” she said. “Gotta keep everyone in the loop!”
Faith kindly answered some questions for us to learn more about her.
What motivated you to run for SA Marketing & Publication VP?
From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew I wanted to do something for the community. I was inspired by the 2024-25 SA officers and their passion for their work. I want to use my talents to keep that momentum going.
Which social platforms do you find most effective for PUC students?
Instagram is a versatile and expansive platform that most students use. We can post videos, posts, stories, and more. I’m not much of a TikTok fan, admittedly.
How do you stay updated on the latest marketing trends and techniques?
In short: paying attention and doing research! In my downtime on social media, I’ll note what strategies and formulas catch my attention. I have already built a list of social media posts and poster inspiration!
How do you plan to advocate for PUC students?
I want the student body to be able to voice their opinions and thoughts—I will listen to them. Many corners of the campus can be overlooked or underrepresented, so I hope to bring light to them in ways they haven’t before.
What do you hope to accomplish with your SA team?
I want to continue and expound on the momentum the former SA officers set in motion. But most importantly, I want every student to feel seen and heard by their leadership.
What are you looking forward to this school year?
I’m very excited to get to know my team, meet other student leaders on campus, start my nursing journey, and be involved in collaborative projects with dozens of amazing individuals! Bethanee, Justin, Kyler, Kaylin, and Josemon all have unique talents and perspectives—but most importantly, a drive to make this campus better every day. As I get to know them, I get increasingly excited every day.
What message do you want to emphasize across campus next year to help shape the culture of PUC?
Our generation desperately needs an enthusiastic community. We’ve been through difficult times, particularly the pandemic, which I believe negatively impacted our social lives. We need to learn how to reconnect, whether in person or using wonderful new technological developments. I am confident that my team’s work will further this endeavor and bring our generation a little closer—one student at a time.
How can PUC support you and your team?
Get involved! Go to events and step out of your routine now and then. You never know what new connection can make a huge difference in your life. And voice your opinions! SA officers LOVE to hear your feedback and input. We can’t improve the campus unless we know what YOU want to improve.
What is your favorite thing about being a part of the Pioneers community?
There are so many diverse individuals—diverse in talents, interests, backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. I’ve learned so much about myself and others around me through my first year here. I’ve made so many friends and connections that have improved my life and brought me closer to God. My spiritual life is stronger than ever.
Can you share any advice for new students?
Get off the hill once in a while. We are so lucky to go to school in a beautiful area and be close to many wonderful places to explore or visit!
If you have a car or know someone with a car, get out and explore. Go to the beach, the hills, the Bay, Albion, St. Helena, Calistoga, the Back 40, the Redwoods—anywhere your heart desires! Take advantage of the scarce free time you have now- it will run out before you know it.
