Micah Grady is a freshman from Mill City, Oregon, majoring in aviation. “I never believed I could afford to attend PUC,” he shared. “I was very interested in the aviation program because of its high standards, safety, and focus on mission aviation. I decided it wouldn’t hurt to apply, and God provided me with a scholarship I never dreamed possible that allowed me to attend PUC.”
Since starting college, Micah has joined the EMT Club and Angwin Flyers, and enjoys attending pre-vespers every week with his aviation program. From fellowship, Bible study, and great food and company, he said it’s an awesome way to welcome the Sabbath with his aviation community.
What do you like the most about your program?
The aviation program is very professional, committed to safety and high-quality training. Ultimately, though, I appreciate our focus on training Christ-centered pilots for lives of service.
What has surprised you the most since starting college?
College classes seem to be easier than high school!
What is your favorite thing about being a part of the Pioneers family?
I like how friendly everyone is and how the faculty genuinely wants to help the students succeed.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Alaska! I spent last year in Alaska in a small village in the bush as a mission pilot/school teacher/lay pastor. I absolutely fell in love with the area and the people! I’d say Alaska is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.
What is something you’re passionate about?
I’m passionate about mission aviation. About 40% of the world remains unreached with the Gospel, and aviation happens to be one of the greatest tools for reaching many remote, unreached people with the Gospel.
How would you describe your perfect weekend at PUC?
Go to church on Sabbath, go hiking with some friends, and on Sunday, put in a solid day of work, study, and go flying!
