Three Habits for a Good Night’s Sleep in College

With homework, exams, and roommates, getting a good night’s rest in college can be hard. Even if you are one of those students who can function on five hours of sleep, we still encourage you to get hours for good-quality rest. Here are three habits we hope will help you get a good night’s sleep.

Get Some Sunshine

If you can, open your blinds right when you wake up to have natural light into your room to help shift your sleep schedule to fall asleep earlier in the evening.

Remember to Take Breaks

Stress and anxiety is a big factor of not getting enough sleep. Remember to take breaks during the day between studying and doing homework. Taking breaks will help alleviate stress and feeling overwhelmed when you go to sleep.

Make Your Room Comfortable

If there is one thing to invest in for your bedroom, it’s your bedding. Make sure you have comfortable pillows, comforters, or blankets to give you a good night’s sleep. If you need a mattress topper for extra comfort, there are affordable ones. A lot of students also dim their lights and close their blinds a few hours before bedtime to get their mind and body settled.
