Tips to Help You through Finals Week

You are almost done with the winter quarter! As you prepare for finals, we put together some tips to help you study and pass your exams.

Get Organized

If you are having a hard time juggling everything with little time, make a list with due dates and exam times. Properly seeing everything lined up by day helps you and your mind stay organized with everything you need to complete.

Ask for Help

Your professors are more than willing to help you succeed. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and communicate any problems you are facing.

Check-in With Yourself

Mentally, physically, and spiritually check-in with yourself as you go through your classes and busy schedule. Remember to breathe, eat, and take time for yourself outside of studying and responsibilities.

Calm Yourself

If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and anxious, calm yourself down when these emotions take over. Bundle yourself up in your blanket, take a walk and listen to your favorite artist or podcast, or do some breathing exercises.

Prioritize Sleep

Especially when you’re spending a week taking big exams and giving presentations, prioritize sleep to restore your body and mind. Getting a good night of rest will keep you sharp for the next day.

Repeat Positive Words to Yourself

Repeat positive words, phrases, or Bible verses that ground you and boost your confidence to know you are prepared to succeed. Also say a prayer before you take your exam to help release stress and put your mind at ease.

Be Gentle with Yourself

Don’t forget to be compassionate with yourself. We are only human and can only do so much with the time we are given. We are our biggest critics and when you become self-critical, remember to be gentle with yourself.
