Faces of PUC: Blessing Simamora

Coming from Littleton, Colorado, is junior pre-nursing student Blessing Simamora.  Her favorite part about being a part of the pioneer family is the close-knit community. “Because the campus is small, more students and faculty are able to get to know one another and this makes our community stronger,” she shared. “It’s nice attending a school where everyone is comfortable with one another.”

What made you decide to attend PUC?

Originally, I was supposed to attend Southern University in Tennessee but because my sisters attended PUC, they gave me a tour of the campus and I decided to commit to PUC. What drew me to PUC was the area and how beautiful the campus was. I loved how evergreen and pure the campus scenery was.

What do you like the most about your program?

What I like most about my program is the amount of support and help I get. If I have any questions or concerns, I am comfortably able to ask for guidance. I also love how I get diverse opportunities in my program that help me build character and my future career.

What keeps you at PUC?

The faith-based education I get at PUC is one of the many reasons why I stay. Not many universities get to dig deep into scripture and the Seventh-Day Advenist community. I am very blessed to be attending PUC because it offers me both a closer relationship with God and a well-rounded education.

Is there an event or activity this school year you are looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to PUC on Broadway. I grew up listening to and watching Broadway, so I’m looking forward to seeing how PUC will bring Broadway to light and highlight the student’s and faculty’s talents.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I would go to South Korea. South Korea is known for its culture and cuisine, so I would like to learn more about the place. I would also attend to look at their scenic landscapes and see what more there is to learn.

What is something you’re passionate about?

Something I’m passionate about is music. Growing up, I was always surrounded with music. Since my mom made my sisters and I sing for my church, I slowly started to grow my love and appreciation for music.

What is your favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley? What’s your order recommendation?

My current favorite restaurant is Applebees. My order recommendation is an appetizer of artichoke and chips with the main dish being top sirloin cooked well done.

How would you describe your perfect weekend at PUC?

A perfect weekend at PUC would be to have the time to go thrift and get boba with my friends. I would also sit outside and read for a little bit while listening to my current favorite songs.
