How To Stay Festive During Finals

While it can be hard to get in the holiday spirit when you’re studying for finals, finishing papers, and completing assignments, we have four ways you can stay festive during finals week.

Decorate Your Room

Go to the dollar store, HomeGoods, or Target to find nice and affordable holiday decorations and turn your room into a holiday wonderland. Get a small tree, add some ornaments, and hang up warm colored lights around your room to feel the warmth and delight of the holiday season.

Have A Holiday Treat

After a study session or completing an assignment, treat yourself to some holiday sweets. Grab a hot chocolate, white chocolate pretzels, peppermint mocha or chocolate– whatever fills your sweet tooth.

Listen or Watch Christmas Content

Another way to treat yourself after hours of work is watching tv or a movie during the weekend. From Home Alone, The Grinch, and Charlie Brown, there are countless holiday episodes and movies for you to enjoy outside of finals.

Listening to Christmas music can also get you into the holiday spirit– and even help you study. Many students listen to lo-fi Christmas music to concentrate and feel the Christmas spirit at the same time. We all have our choice of Christmas music, so listen to it during this time of the year.

Have A Cheerful Mentality

This can be hard when you’re feeling stressed with finals, but we encourage you to try to channel a cheerful spirit to keep your mental health in check. Keeping up with your mental health is essential, especially during finals. Incorporate time during finals to check-in with yourself and do what you must to keep yourself well.
