Chaivut (Tony) Chungcharoenpanich has been teaching at PUC for two years since 2021 as a clinical instructor at Adventist Health St. Helena, VA, and skill tester. He likes teaching health assessment skills and his favorite classes to teach are NUR 121, skills lab, and clinical at SHSH and VA long-term care facility. He is also the most recent Daisy Award Winner in Spring of 2024, recognized by the students and nomination committee.

What is your favorite thing about being a part of the Pioneers family?  

I love the core value of Adventist cultural traits in healthy diets and spiritual welfare. The other thing might be the system that allowed the students to thrive with several supportive programs from the college, such as TLC (now known as Student Success Center) for academic development, vespers for spiritual gathering, Student Life for meaningful service & volunteering activities. 

Do you have a favorite place to eat in the Napa Valley?  

I prefer cooking at home to eating out. However, I sometimes drive myself to Calistoga for Pad Thai or Drunken Noodle (just the name, no alcohol as ingredient, lol). After the meal, Calistoga Creamery is my last destination before returning to Angwin.  

What would students be surprised to find out about you?

Where is your dream vacation?  

I always love to explore different cities with ancient ruins. My dream vacation would be visiting countries with rich cultural heritages. Recently, I was checking out dinosaur excavation and ancient civilization in the northeastern areas of Thailand. I saw some dinosaur footprints, artifacts, bones, and a prehistoric handcart (red color).
